Free Valuations & Direct Purchase

Foxhill Auctions also purchases selected items outright. Our team will assess your items and discuss whether a direct purchase or auction consignment may be the most appropriate option.

There is no obligation to proceed and no pressure to sell.

Send Photographs From Home

You can begin the process by sending us clear photographs and a brief description of your items.

Where possible, please include photographs showing:

  • The front and back of each item
  • Hallmarks, signatures or identifying marks
  • Boxes, certificates or supporting documentation
  • Any damage or areas of concern

Send your photographs by WhatsApp on 07435 052 845 or email them to info@foxhillauctions.co.uk.

Our team will review the information and advise you on the next step. A physical inspection may be required before an offer or auction estimate can be confirmed.

The Auction Process

1. Get in Touch

Send us a brief description of your items together with clear photographs. You can contact us by:

  • Email: info@foxhillauctions.co.uk
  • WhatsApp: 07435 052 845
  • Telephone: 01488 860 124

Alternatively, you are welcome to bring your items to the Hungerford Coin & Stamp Centre at 34A High Street, Hungerford, RG17 0NF.

2. Receive an Initial Valuation

We provide complimentary, no-obligation selling valuations. Once we have seen your items, we will advise whether they may be suitable for one of our forthcoming auctions.

Please note that an initial valuation is an opinion only and may be subject to further research and physical inspection.

3. Consign Your Items

If you decide to proceed, we will provide the appropriate consignment paperwork and a receipt for your items.

Our team will then research, catalogue and photograph each lot. You will receive the proposed descriptions, estimates and any recommended reserves for your approval before the catalogue is published.

4. The Auction

Your lots will be professionally presented in our online catalogue and promoted to our audience of collectors and buyers.

We will manage the bidding process and respond to any enquiries relating to your lots.

5. Results and Payment

Following the auction, we will provide a statement showing the results and any applicable charges.

Payment will be made by bank transfer in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, once cleared payment has been received from the buyer.

Home Visits

For substantial collections, multiple suitable items or estate contents, we may be able to arrange a convenient home visit.

One of our specialists can examine the collection and discuss the available options. Items may need to be taken away for further research before an offer, auction estimate or reserve can be confirmed.

Home visits are offered where a collection has suitable auction or resale potential. Please contact us with some initial information and photographs so we can assess whether a visit would be appropriate.

Formal Written Valuations

We provide formal written valuations for probate, insurance, legal and taxation purposes.

These are separate from our complimentary selling valuations and are provided as a professional, fee-based service. All fees will be explained and agreed before work begins.

Probate and Inheritance Tax Valuations

We prepare itemised valuations for probate and inheritance tax purposes, based on the relevant open-market value of the property at the required valuation date.

Fees start from £300 plus VAT.

On-site valuation work is charged at £150 plus VAT per hour. Travel expenses may also apply depending on the location.

  • Identifying details and measurements
  • Current replacement values

We can also discuss written valuations required for:

  • Family and divorce proceedings
